scheduled maintenance
Some people see their car as strictly transportation. They get in and go. Day in, day out. They never check anything. They don’t even pop the hood to check the oil. Then one day they start hearing noises or the engine light comes on. Next thing you the tow truck is coming their way. Well you don’t have to be that person. You can bring your car in to Elkhart Mechanics to have them do a full maintenance check. They’ll check all the fluids, check the tires for wear or improper inflation, they’ll check the brakes to make sure your pads and rotors are in good condition. Then they’ll check the all your lights to make sure you can see and people can see you. If you keep an eye on your car, it will last years.
Scheduled maintenance means checking various parts of your car at regular intervals and replacing fluids or parts when they need to replace. Whenever you get in your car, you check how much gasoline it has and make a mental note of how soon you need to make more gas. You might even be in the habit of checking your car’s engine oil and adding more oil or taking it for an oil change when necessary. Checking and maintaining other fluids and systems in your car can help you avoid needing expensive repairs later on. We recommend bringing your car to a garage for scheduled maintenance once every three months or 3,000 miles, and we will check the parts that you are not able to check by yourself. When you bring your car for scheduled maintenance, we will check your automatic transmission fluid, batteries, belts, cables, dashboard indicator light, engine air filter, engine oil, exhaust, hoses, lights, power steering fluid, tires, and windshield washer fluid. Every six months, you should also check your chassis lubrication and windshield wiper blades. We recommend also checking your wheel alignment and coolant every year. These are all things that can be checked just by looking in the right place and knowing what to look for; they all involve the non-computerized parts of your car. For potential problems with the parts of the car connected to its computer system, you must do an engine diagnostic. Elkhart Mechanics is a full service garage, and we can perform scheduled maintenance, engine diagnostics, and much more. We will always give you a fair price on scheduled maintenance, and we will not fix anything without your consent. If you want our advice on checking some of your car’s systems on your own, we are happy to give it to you. |
